Vantage Energy II was formed in 2012 to pursue additional opportunities for the acquisition and development of properties by the Vantage Energy team in the Greene County, Pennsylvania portion of the dry gas Marcellus Shale.  Vantage Energy II grew through acreage acquisitions through greenfield leasing and several large transactions, significant development drilling, and construction of midstream infrastructure.  Rice Energy acquired Vantage Energy and Vantage Energy II in 2016 for $2.7 billion.  Lime Rock Partners remains an investor in Rice Energy through its Vantage Energy II investment.
