Eastern Drilling was a Norway-based offshore drilling company that developed two sixth-generation semi-submersible drilling rigs. Both rigs were designed for environmentally friendly operations in harsh and deepwater environments and have the capability to operate in water depths up to 10,000 feet. SeaDrill acquired Eastern Drilling in May 2007.
